Trust in Luton write to Football League over Watford case

Trust in Luton have written an official letter to the Football League after rivals Watford were not docked any points by the authorities for financial indiscretions by previous owners, writes Mark Wood.

There were many parallels between the recent Watford case and Luton’s in 2008 when Town were hit with a 20 points deduction by the League and an additional 10 point deduction plus a £50,000 fine from the FA.

A statement on their website read: “The purpose of our letter to the Football League is to draw their attention to and seek their comments on the contradictions between the sanctions imposed against each club and the previous owners.”
