Tricky trips hold no fear for Hatters says Robinson

Tricky trips to Grimsby Town and Halifax Town this week hold no fear for Luton according to young midfielder Matt Robinson, writes Mark Wood.

With such tough games coming up, Saturday’s 3-0 victory over Chester was even more important to help Town maintain their momentum in their push for the Skrill Premier title.

He said: “It’s always nice to go into a game knowing that you’ve had a good performance and you’ve won in the manner that we did.

“I don’t think we’re afraid of any teams. We go places not expecting to win, but going there to win, we don’t like going for a draw, we’re not going to lose.

“So I think it doesn’t matter where we go at the moment, I think we just need to keep focused on what we are trying to achieve.”

Blundell Park has not been the happiest of hunting grounds for the Hatters.

Town have won six, drawn seven and lost 12 times in Grimsby, but their record is better at the Shay where they have won four, drawn two and lost one of their seven matches.

Last season Town twice lost at the Mariners, but Robinson doesn’t think that will count for anything when new-look Luton turn up this evening.

He added: “It’s never easy. I remember last year when we went there and I think we got beat twice.

“But that doesn’t mean anything, this is a largely different team with a different mindframe to what we had last year.

“I think you can’t think about the opponents too much, you’ve got to think what you can bring to the game and not what they’re going to bring, which is what I think we will do when we go up there on Tuesday.”
