Training facilities and recruitment top of Fuccillo’s list

FINDING the Hatters new training facilities to arrest their alarming injury-rate and identifying new transfer targets are two of the key elements new technical director Lil Fuccillo is being tasked with, writes Mark Wood.

Town are known to be looking for a move away from their Ely Way training base and that, as well as recruiting players, are the main roles that Fuccillo will fill.

Managing director Gary Sweet said: “Why in the last three years have we had so many injuries? It’s not the physio, we’ve got a great physio team, it’s not the training.

“It could be the training ground. These are the little things we’re looking at, so we.”

Fuccillo added: “I’m trying to get the club back just a little bit of what we had a few years ago, ie training ground and facilities that are right for the club from top to bottom.

“It’s all about recruitment too, it’s the biggest thing in football at all levels from top to bottom. That recruitment has to be paramount in as much that you bring the right players in.”
