Town’s squad warned to stay in shape over the summer

Commanding defender Steve McNulty said: “We’ve got a new fitness guy in and he has given us programmes to follow over the summer and report back on July 1.

“We had a fitness test and they recorded the scores and they expect us to be fitter than the last day of the season.

“The gaffer put it in black and white and if you don’t hit the the scores he won’t be having it.”

Boss John Still indicated the club were on the verge of appointing a new fitness and conditioning coach, adding: “I would think you would probably hear something in the next week or two.”
