Town’s guilty culprits are slammed by Carden

HATTERS first team coach Paul Carden has criticised any Luton Town players who were not putting in the required effort during the last weeks of ex-manager Gary Brabin’s tenure, writes Mike Simmonds.

A club statement confirming the departure of Brabin on Saturday said: “The board felt the manner of the recent performances and results were unacceptable and while they believe it is right that Gary is, ultimately, accountable, they have also been dissatisfied and surprised with the attitude of certain members of the playing staff over the past month.”

Carden himself said: “If people haven’t been giving it, then you can’t lie to yourself.

“If criticism has hurt them, they don’t deserve to be around the place, they don’t deserve to be in football.”
