Town target man Shaw nets on his return in development squad win

Goals from Alex Wall, Jon Shaw and Zane Banton earned Luton Town’s development squad a 3-2 win over Northampton yesterday.

Luton starlet Banton came on as a second half sub to score the winner and tweeted: “Was good to come on as a sub and get the winner for reserves today”

It was a welcome return for Town target man Shaw following his hernia operation.

Speaking on Thursday, Luton boss John Still said: “Jon Shaw is training, he’s not doing everything, but next week he’ll be full tilt and if we can get a really good week into him, give him a little bit of game to, then probably two weeks.

“I’m looking forward to the day I’ve got Jon Shaw, Paul Benson and Alex Wall, what I call traditional centre forwards available.

“I like that type of player myself, so competition for that spot would be great.”
