Town stand firm over Walker’s deal refusal

DEFIANT Town chief Paul Buckle will not allow Dan Walker to be siphoned off from the Hatters on the cheap after the attacker rejected two new contract offers from the club, writes Mark Wood.

Luton signed the 22-year-old from Bedford Town in August 2010 and he has progressed well as part of Town’s development squad, but was placed on the transfer list after refusing to sign a new deal.

Walker has impressed with his pace and venomous shot when given the opportunity by Luton, but enjoyed mixed success during his loan spells at Eastbourne Borough, Cambridge United and Southport.

He has netted four times in 25 appearances while out on loan and has scored once in 20 games for Town.

The attacker returned to training with Town’s first team on Monday and Buckle was straight to the point with the former Leighton Town man.
