Town snap up Stoke City striker

LUTON Town have signed Stoke City striker Ryan Brunt on work experience until January 1.

The highly-rated 18-year-old frontman has scored twice for the Potters’ academy side this season and once for the Premier League side’s reserves.

Birmingham-born Brunt has also spent time on loan at Evo-Stik Northern Premier League side Nantwich Town, but arrives at Kenilworth Road to boost the club’s pool of development squad players.

Hatters boss Gary Brabin said: “Ryan is a very promising talent and well thought of by Stoke.

“He may still be young but he’s very quick, lightning quick and strong.

“Everything about him is impressive and he shows maturity beyond his years.

“I watched him come on as a substitute for Stoke’s reserves against Rotherham last week and he lit the place up, scoring the final goal in a 4-1 win.

“We’ve taken Ryan on work experience to aid his development and we’re grateful to Stoke for their co-operation.

“Let’s see where we go from there.

“It’s good to have a talented frontman in our development group and we’re hoping his stay could possibly lead to something more long term.”
