Town secure Kovacs on permanent deal

HATTERS have completed the permanent signing of Janos Kovacs on Monday following his release by League Two Hereford United.

The 26-year-old Hungarian penned a deal to keep him at Kenilworth Road until June 2013.

He has played 19 times this season and netted twice as well as forming a solid partnership with captain George Pilkington in the centre of Luton’s defence. Thrilled Hatters boss Gary Brabin said: “Janos has been a rock at the back for us since joined us again.

“His performance have been fantastic and he has had an unbelievably positive effect on the team on and off the pitch.

“He was happy to commit his future to this football club two months ago and I’m pleased that we’ve been able to keep him.

“He loves it here and we love having Janos. His performance at Kettering epitomised everything about him.

“He’s limped through the whole of the second half, with an ankle injury, but Kettering have got some big players, and we couldn’t really afford to bring him off.”
