Defender Chabata, 18, had made two senior appearances for the club during this season’s FA Trophy campaign.

Goalkeeper Barnes, 18, had been on the subs bench for Hatters towards the end of last season, while striker McKenzie-Lowe, 18, who recently had a loan spell with Hitchin, never featured for the first team.

U18s boss Paul Driver said: “I enjoyed working with them for the last three years but we are unable to offer them deals so I wish them the best in their quest to find a new club.”

Meanwhile, one player who should be staying at Kenilworth Road is midfielder Charlie Smith, who has played for Town three times and is currently on loan at Hitchin Town.
