Town fall to Ipswich defeat

LUTON Town’s Development Squad went down 3-1 against Ipswich Town in a behind-closed-doors fixture on Wednesday.

The Championship side fielded former Luton star Andy Drury and ex-Wigan striker Nathan Ellington as they burst into a 2-0 lead inside 13 minutes.

Town fell 3-0 behind at the break, but the visitors improved in the second half and pulled one back with time running out after Dan Walker finished off good work by Adam Watkins.

Assistant manager Alan Neilson said: “It was a good workout and a good experience for a number of our young players who had 90 minutes against an Ipswich team that had Drury in midfield and Nathan Ellington up front.”

Hatters: Kidd, Longden, Ekins (Ferguson), Carden, Jibidu (Blake), Poku, Watkins, Tavernier, Dasilva, Crncic (Ann), Walker.
