Town face competition for Shaw signature

HATTERS face competition in their bid to sign former Gateshead frontman Jon Shaw, with Conference rivals Wrexham also throwing their hat in the ring for the out of contract striker, writes MIike Simmonds.

Although Town announced the capture of Wycombe forward Scott Rendell last night, they remain in for Shaw, but Red Dragons boss Andy Morrell said: “I have spoken to Jon but he has got a lot of teams interested in him.

“Financially, we have got to make sure it is right for the club more than anything.

“It is just a matter of talking to his agent and seeing if there is anything we can do.

“But as I said, he has got a lot of clubs interested and he is just taking his time.”
