The Town chief had been all set to bring in a player before striker Scott Rendell’s loan move broke down.

Still confirmed that the new signing remained an option, but only if the deal could be extended once the transfer window opens again in January.

He said: “When the window’s open you’ve got to be looking as you might get an injury next week.

“I’m always looking, if the right one, I would love to death is available I probably would, but only if I can keep him here when the window closes, thats’ key to me.”

On another move for Rendell, Still added: “It’s still a maybe at the moment, I can only say still a maybe.”
