Town boosted as Grimsby draw with Cambridge

Hatters’ title hopes were given a boost yesterday when leaders Grimsby Town were held to a 0-0 draw at Cambridge United, writes Mike Simmonds.

The Mariners, who started recent Town transfer target Marcus Marshall after he rejoined the club on loan, did move nine points above Luton, but the Hatters have three games in hand.

Grimsby’s goal difference remains far superior, while Luton also fell five points behind Forest Green who won 2-1 at Lincoln, although Paul Buckle’s side also have three games in hand on Rovers.
