Tevez situation shows player power

TOWN boss Gary Brabin believes the refusal of Carlos Tevez to come on as substitute for Manchester City in their 2-0 Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich is a demonstration of player power, writes Mark Wood.

He said: “I think nowadays players are getting more and more money and more of the high life.

“There are players in a strong position to do that and Tevez probably feels he is in a strong position to do that and it’s the modern day.”

But it’s never happened in a game he’s played in or managed in, jokingly adding on the current injury situation at Kenilworth Road: “I’m hoping they are all injured rather than refusing to play!”
