He said: “It was a brilliant game for the fans but I am devastated we haven’t got anything out of the game to be honest.

“I thought we were good in the first half, but they have had two shots at goal and scored from both.

“They were great strikes to be fair, although we could have got tighter on them.

“The first ten minutes of the second half have killed us a little bit, they were disappointing goals to concede.”

And he was gutted that they hadn’t been able to complete a remarkable comeback after the Lambs had been 3-1 down.

He added: “But I thought, after that, our determination, effort and commitment was brilliant, really first class.

“We won the second balls, put pressure on them, got two goals back and I thought we were unlucky not to get a result.

“I’m gutted but we continue to learn with every game and I do believe we will get the rewards our performances deserve soon.”
