The 28-year midfielder, who has scored twice in 16 games for Town since signing on a free transfer last year, is determined to prove his worth while on a month’s loan at the Shots before coming back to help the Hatters.

He said: “Hopefully I’ll play well and go back and prove to everyone I’m raring to go.

“I want to prove to myself more than anything that I can still do it, prove to the fans and the manager and whoever is watching.”

Taiwo, who is out of contract at the end of the season, has been hampered by a hernia problem as he then lost his place, but remains desperate to repay boss John Still’s faith, as the manager nurtured his talents at former club Dagenham & Redbridge.
