Sweet wants quality over quantity for Town this season

QUALITY not quantity is the mantra for Luton this season as they look to reshape their squad for another tilt at the Conference title, writes Mark Wood.

Town face a fourth year in the Blue Square Bet Premier and the Hatters will be looking to recruit ‘characters’ this time around.

Managing director Gary Sweet admitted there will be more leaving in the coming weeks following on from the recent departures of Curtis Osano, Shane Blackett, Dan Gleeson and Danny Crow.

He said: “There will be more movements. One thing we are conscious of is that we try and do things properly and in the right way.

“Not only are we burdened with facing Conference football for another season, we’ve got to accept we are in this league and it takes characters to do that.”
