Sweet: Stadium development plans are progressing

Plans to increase Kenilworth Road’s capacity are moving onwards and upwards with extra seats above the Bobbers and Oak Road stands among those under consideration, writes Mark Wood.

Managing director Gary Sweet has revealed those are two of the options Luton are looking at and admitted any developments would probably need to be in place by the start of the 2014-15 season to be financially viable.

He said: “Each potential partner provides its own ideas, which part of Kenilworth Road, and what type of designs they can implement that will give us the maximum return on our investment in a short space of time along with different seating configurations.”

The ability to incorporate any additions into a new stadium remains compulsory to the plans, while discussions to buy back the stadium continue too.
