Striker is delighted to be Luton’s leading light

LIVEWIRE Luton striker Stuart Fleetwood has admitted he loves to be the centre of attention, writes Mark Wood.

He was deployed in the middle of a three-man attack at Kidderminster Harriers on Tuesday evening and netted his ninth goal of the season in the 2-1 win.

Fleetwood revealed it’s a role he is accustomed to, saying: “I’ve played that position most of my career.

“When I was at Hereford last season I played up front on my own for virtually the whole season.

“I’m used to it. I like to play on the shoulder, try and use my pace and I think it worked, especially when you’ve got two flying machines like Robbie (Willmott) and Jake Howells.

“It complements me nicely and if I can secure that spot I will be very happy.”

On his aims for the rest of the season, Fleetwood added: “I just want to try and get as many goals as I can.

“In every game I play in I want to try and score a goal.

“I think the last three games I’ve played in I’ve scored in so that’s important to me as a striker and my game is based on goals.

“If I can just get into double figures then see where I go from there.”
