The result saw Luton make it 20 Skrill Premier games unbeaten to enter the record books for the longest unbeaten league sequence in their history, beating their previous best of 19 set twice in the 1960s.

Still said: “I’m part of a team that’s helped create that with the players and supporters, staff.

“We’ve all helped to create that and it’s wonderful, I’m very proud of that, but there’s other things that we want to achieve.”

Midfielder Cameron McGeehan, who made his Town debut after joining on loan from Norwich City recently, said: “It’s amazing, I didn’t know that, but the lads have been winning and doing really well since before I came here.

“So I’m just trying to help push it along as well and try to keep myself in the team and play.”

Town’s comfortable triumph coupled with Cambridge’s 3-3 draw at Dartford saw Luton extend their lead over the U’s to three points, although Richard Money’s side still have a game in hand.

Still added: “People come in and say Cambridge have drawn, but honestly at this stage, it’s not (important).

“As long as we keep doing what we’re doing, things will take care of itself.”
