Town ended a tough run of five games with 13 points from a possible 15, after victories against Barnet (twice), Kidderminster and Gateshead, before the stalemate at Sincil Bank.

On another heavy pitch that needed two pitch inspections before going ahead, Still said: “It was a battle again, but we’ve competed terrifically in difficult conditions.

“I think that the festive period, that’s the end of it and it’s been fantastic for us.

“I was absolutely delighted with the commitment, the work rate was terrific again, we just needed something to fall for us but it never did.

“They’ve come off the back of a decent result against Grimsby, and it’s going to be tough. They launch the ball in the box, we’ve got to defend that, we defended it great, so overall, well done us.”

On the surface, which although cut up during the second half, held together well throughout, despite the constant drizzle, Still continued: “It was one of those pitches, the pitch was playable, don’t get me wrong, but sometimes it ran quick, sometime it would run slower.

“So we had to play a little bit longer than we usually play, which in an ideal world we wouldn’t, but you have to play conditions and we played them and got an important point.

“I don’t know what their pitch was like the last game, but I know what our pitch was like and that would have taken a lot of out us.”

Still also felt that results like the hard fought point, further showcased their title credentials, as they moved five points clear of Cambridge United.

He added: “We just found that little bit extra. The 6-0 win against Kidderminster, 5-0 against Alfreton, 4-2 against Gateshead, sometimes they don’t win you the league.

“It’s 1-1 at Lincoln in difficult conditions that can win you the league, and we’ve shown fantastic spirit and not a little skill and attitude,

“They’re sometimes the things that you need just to work hard and get something from a game, I’m delighted to get something from.”
