Still surprised Alfreton didn’t offer Rowe-Turner a deal

Alfreton’s failure to offer Lathaniel Rowe-Turner a permanent contract has seen Luton recall the adaptable defender from their Skrill Premier rivals, writes Mark Wood.

The 23-year-old impressed for the Reds playing 23 times as he helped the league’s surprise package to third spot in the Skrill Premier.

But boss John Still recalled him after fearing for his long-term future as Alfreton failed to follow through on a full-term deal.

Still said: “When we let him go there on loan we said that when the window opened again he had to look to do a permanent deal.

“We said at the time was that when the window comes you need to make something permanent and it hasn’t worked out, he’s back here.”
