With Ronnie Henry the only senior right back at the club and youngster Brett Longden currently out on loan, the Town boss admitted it was the one position he was looking to strengthen in.

He said: “I always have in my mind that we might need a right sided defender.

“We watch so many games and if someone came up that I thought would benefit us in that area, I would try and do something about it.

“Ronnie (Henry) plays there. Earlier on in the year we had to move Jonathan Smith out to that position and we might not want to do that.

“We know Andy Parry can also play there, but we might not want to move him. I’m not saying we wouldn’t, but if the right person, someone who ticked all the boxes in that right side position, then probably we would look at it.

“We’re not bashing doors down but we are looking.”

Still also revealed he wouldn’t be acquiring a work in progress, but someone who could step straight in if needed.

He added: “Player wise now, competition for places and players to develop, I’m absolutely spot on.

“I’m not looking to bring another young one in to develop as it’s important we give development time to the group we’ve got

“You cant spread yourself too thin. We’re still talking the likes of (Elliot) Justham, (Alex) Lacey, (Matt) Robinson, (Andy) Parry, Andre Gray, JJ O’Donnell, David Viana, (Brett) Longden, (Jerome) Jibodu.

“So I don’t think well be looking to bring in another one we want to make better.

“It probably wouldn’t be one that we’ve do a lot of work with, that doesn’t mean to say he wouldn’t young, but someone who could come in and know the job.”
