Still pleased with ‘stiff’ Luton as transfer-listed players are set for a run out

The Meadow Park workout proved a useful experience for the Hatters as they fielded a different team in both halves, although three players had to come off as the rigours of last week’s pre-season trip to Portugal caught up with them.
Boss John Still said: “We saw it with Alex Wall who came off because his calves were stiff.

“But they stuck to the task fantastically well. So I don’t think there’s anyone got an injury, I just think it’s a matter of stiffs and we knew that it would be like that.
“Which is one of the reasons we said 45 minutes for everybody. Jon Shaw unfortunately had to come on and play a bit longer, but we changed him with Mark Cullen towards the end.”
All of Luton’s new signings got a run out other than Danny Fitzsimons, as Still explained: “He got a knock in an impact injury, early in training so he’s just a little bit behind but that’s not a problem.”

Transfer-listed duo Scott Rendell and Lathaniel Rowe-Turner were in the stands, while Arnaud Mendy wasn’t present, having recently been on trial at Portsmouth and Bury.
And Still revealed the transfer-listed players could well be among those figuring in tomorrow night’s Bedfordshire FA Premier Cup clash against Biggleswade Town.
He added: “If they’re still here for next week I think those lads will probably play on Monday at Biggleswade.”
