After Town’s amazing 4-3 win over FC Halifax Town on Saturday, Still beckoned Hatters fan Mark Baldwin over to join in with the debriefing.

Baldwin was the supporter who had been involved in a spat with skipper Ronnie Henry in the previous home match, but had met with both during training.

Still said: “It was always a thing we were going to bring him on and he won’t be the only person that we bring on.

“We’ll be doing it again, win, lose or draw.

Speaking exclusively to the News/Gazette, Baldwin explained why he had taken issue with Henry.

He said: “I was showing my aggression and that I wasn’t happy with the game.

“I told Ronnie Henry to sort it out as it wasn’t very good, and when I saw his interview on YouTube, I felt bad.

“I went down to the training ground on Monday, where we had a two-hour discussion.

“We shook hands and I gave Ronnie and John a big bottle of whisky, he’s going to save that for when we’re champions.”

Skipper Henry felt Baldwin had no option but to take up his offer to come in for a chat after his emotive interview.

The captain said: “I think it was too out there, he had to come in, too many people knew who he was.

“It was in the paper and if he would have turned up without doing so, it would have been even worse.

“I think he’s done the right thing and full credit to him.”
