The 24-year-old is the Reds leading scorer this term with 10 league goals and is a player who Still signed twice on loan when manager at Dagenham & Redbridge.

Earlier in his career, Bristol City paid £140,000 to Ebbsfleet for his services and speaking about the forward, Still said: “John’s big, strong and powerful, is capable of getting the ball deep, running at people and just running past them.

“He’s a handful and he can cause lots and lots of problems and we have to be aware of that.

“We were there (when Luton won 5-0 at Alfreton earlier in the season). I think we mastered him very well, but John’s big strong and powerful and he uses all of those attributes.”

Akinde will no doubt find himself up against Hatters’ popular centre half Steve McNulty who excelled in keeping a clean sheet when the sides met back in December.

Still continued: “Macca relishes whatever he comes up against and he finds a way of dealing with it.

“He’ll be fully aware of what John can do and bring. I know that he sets himself up mentally before a game, will set up physically, will set up tactically, so I don’t think that John will bring him any surprises.”

Although Town have been scoring goals for fun recently, with 19 strikes in their last four games, the defence has been more or less impregnable too, keeping three successive clean sheets and conceding just twice in eight matches.

Still added: “The back four have got to be at their best on Saturday.

“People run away with the idea that the goals we’ve been scoring are fantastic, but we’ve not been conceding too many as well.

“That’s every credit to all round the pitch, everyone working hard to cut down the opportunities for the other team to score.

“The back four have been the catalyst for not conceding, aleit it getting help from all over the pitch.”
