The former Fleetwood defender has been in marvellous form this term, including scoring a sensational 25-yard volley during the 3-0 win over Southport.

When pressed for a winner, Still said: “Macca. He leads by example.

“You know when you talk about what would you want from a centre half, you’d want eight out of 10. Well Macca’s eight out of 10, every week.”

Still admitted that he was glad the decision didn’t rest with him though, adding: “I wouldn’t like to pick it, we’ve had some great performances.

“(Mark) Tyler’s done terrific, all the back four have if I’m honest particularly Macca and Scotty (Griffiths), they’ve been outstanding.

“Smudger (Jonathan Smith) would have been in there, Gutts (Luke Guttridge) would have been in there, he still might be.

“If you’ve got someone who might get 30 goals they might have a chance. Paul Benson’s done remarkably well, so I think it will be coin tossing time.”
