The Scottish Premier League club originally signed the 27-year-old keeper on loan until the new year.

But having ousted first choice keeper Ryan Esson and kept four clean sheets in six games and conceded just three times, Caley Thistle want to extend his stay.

Still’s been delighted for his stopper, saying: “I spoke to Terry Butcher a few times. I think the two clubs are talking now to try and work something out.

“I have no problems with it and I don’t think the club has any problems with it, he’s done very well there and I’m really pleased because he’s a smashing, smashing lad and he’s a decent goalkeeper.

“And probably needed to go and play in someone’s first team which he is now doing.

“Which enabled us to bring in another young, hungry, player that’s done very, very well. So I think everyone’s happy.”

Brill is one of five players currently out on loan and, although Still would like to add to that, he’s looking to get some more players back fit first.

He added: “The loans out we’ve done, (Jerome) Jibodu, we’ve done (Jake) Woolley, we’ve done (Scott) Rendell, we’ve done (Lathaniel) Rowe-Turner, I think that’s it.

“I wouldn’t mind doing one or two others, but the loan window has only just opened again hasn’t it, Tuesday last week, so because we’ve gone Saturday, Tuesday, I might just hold on a touch.

“Get (Anthony) Charles back, get (Alex) Lacey back, get Jon Shaw over his injury, Alex Wall’s suspension, get that out of the way, although it’s three games it’s Tuesday, Saturday, Tuesday so it’s over in a week, and then I’ll probably look at something then.”
