Still not ruling out a return for Pelly

Hatters boss John Still remains hopeful of bringing West Ham youngster Pelly Ruddock Mpanzu back to the club during the transfer window, writes Mike Simmonds.

Although Town swooped to sign Norwich City youngster Cameron McGeehan for a month this morning, Still is in touch with the Hammers over the 20-year-old who was a revelation during his brief spell at Kenilworth Road.

Still said: “Pelly’s not fit yet, but once he is fit, we will be asking that question, without a doubt.

“But you can wait for someone to get fit as we’ve waited for Jon Shaw to get fit and it takes longer and longer.

“We have a good relationship with West Ham and when he’s fit, we’ll ask the question.

“Until then, they’re going to say to us, we’ll wait until he’s fit, so what are we going to do? We’ll wait until he’s fit.

“We’ll know when he is, so we’ll ask the question then as they’re aware that we still have an interest in him.

“He did great here Pelly and if he comes back and he’s not quite right (it’s not fair), so we’ll just sit back and wait until he’s had a couple of games and feels like he’s ready to compete.”
