The 36-year-old has made 182 appearances since joining Hatters in July 2009, but is out of contract in the summer.

There have been rumours linking him with a move into coaching, but Still, who handed Tyler his debut as a teenager for Peterborough said: “We’re talking. I’ve known him for many years and I like him.

Still also anticipates recent additions Scott Griffiths and Solomon Taiwo to agree new deals too.

When asked in the week, Griffiths admitted being interested in the idea of staying if the deal was right for himself and Town.

Still, who had the defender while at Dagenham & Redbridge, said: “I’ll sort that out, we’ll be able to do that.

“It’s the same with Solly.

“We’ll get that tied up in the next few weeks as well.”
