Speaking to the press this afternoon ahead of tomorrow’s home Skrill Premier clash with Wrexham that could see Town make it 24 league games unbeaten, Still said: “I’d be lying if I said the team isn’t doing well.

“We look strong, we look organised, there’s a discipline about the team and at the moment we’re doing okay.
“The biggest thing is we’re working hard and it’s that team ethic again.

“On Saturday, we’re 1-0 up at half time, the crowd and supporters were fantastic and I made a comment after the game, the stronger the team, the stronger the team.

“I know it’s a soppy thing to say, but it is. There are many elements of our team.

“The team on the pitch, team off the pitch, supporters, directors, groundstaff here who got the game ready the other day, the ladies who bring the food in every day.

“The 8,000 supporters who were at a home game recently, the 2,000 fans who travelled to Nuneaton.

“Everyone is behind what we’re doing and that makes the team stronger.

“We have to continue and everyone involved who wants this club to be successful has got a part to play and no part is any less important.”

Town’s players once again made easy work of the opposition at the weekend, as they hit five past Nuneaton without reply.

The manager believes that his first choice 11 is benefitting from a fully fit squad to keep them on their toes too as he continued: “We’re fine from Saturday, we trained this morning just to keep sharp, prepare properly and look forward to the game.

“The team is performing fantastically well and I think the players know if they don’t perform as well as they can, someone else may get the opportunity and they may find it hard to get back, that’s all part and parcel of the game.”

With Luton moving 11 points clear of nearest rivals Cambridge, the expectation to win promotion was ratcheted up another notch, but it is something Still believes his players have handled all campaign.

He added: “I’ve said many times if you’re a player and you want to go and play for Manchester United, there’s an expectation level.

“The level we’re at, there is an expectation at this club. Is it unrealistic? It’s not down to me to say.

“What is down to me to say is that if the team works hard and gives it everything that they’ve got, I would think that most people that watch would see that.

“I understand the last few years there has been disappointment here since they came out of the league, I understand that.

“But you’ve got to work hard to turn that around and I think that’s what we’ve done.

“When I came in, from day one, I’m not saying everyone warmed to what I said, but I said there was no quick fix.

“I don’t know how long it will take to get all the elements together, but at the moment we have the elements all together and I think that’s a big plus about what we do.”
