Hatters host an Arsenal XI today and complete their pre-season schedule at Thurrock on Monday night, before starting the Conference campaign at Haig Avenue next weekend.

Still said: “I think I’m pretty close to where we’ll be. It’s up to the players that maybe I’m not sure about, they’ve got two weeks to push home their claims now.

“I’m really open minded on that because what I’ve seen so far, next week I might not see.

“I might see something from somebody else, so the door is still wide open.”

One player who looks to have forced his way in is defender Alex Lacey, after he captained Town to a 3-0 win over Dagenham & Redbridge on Saturday, scoring the second goal.

Still continued: “Sometimes you’ve got to be brave enough to put young ones in. I didn’t really know him, he wasn’t here when I came last year, he was out on loan.”
