The Luton manager has already brought Alex Wall, Scott Griffiths and Solomon Taiwo to the club on short-term deals, along with loaning central defender Jake Goodman.

He has made it quite clear there will be major changes at Kenilworth Road and on how the process is going, he said: “We have a nucleus, we need to add to it and when we do, I think we’ll be a bit stronger

“None have come in yet, but I have identified some people that we want and we’ll be making inroads in that area in the next week or two.”

“I know who I want and if I don’t get them, we’ll go after that. Will we get everyone we want? I doubt it, but if we can get as many as possible that will be okay.

“It’s very unusual to get everyone you want, but I’m not going to sign someone just to fill the space, I don’t really see the value in that.

“I’ll sign who I want and if I’ve got to wait for another year as they’re under contract, that’s what we’ll have to do.

“I said when I came in, it’s not a quick fix, it’s a project. Anyone can sign players, but if I can’t get who I want, then I’ll wait until the one I want comes along.”

On whether he would go back to former club Dagenham & Redbridge for any of their players, Still continued: “I don’t really envisage signing Dagenham players. I’m not saying it won’t happen, but I don’t envisage it.”

Meanwhile, Still wasn’t in the position to announce which of the other out of contract players will be leaving Town as he said: “We won’t quite go into it this week, but after the weekend I’ll know.

“I just want to get Friday out of the way now, I’ve near enough done it.

After missing last Saturday’s trip to Gateshead, Still will be in the dugout once more for tonight’s home clash with Grimsby although admitted he and his coaching staff will be scouting once more tomorrow.

He added: “Terry (Harris) wasn’t here on Tuesday, but we’ll all be there Friday. If we were playing Saturday, one of us wouldn’t be there and probably Alan Neilson wouldn’t be there, but we’re playing Friday so we can be out and about on Saturday.”
