Rovers last home match had ended in an 8-0 thumping of Hyde, but they rarely threatened Mark Tyler’s goal as Hockaday said: “It was two very good teams and it was very tight, no quarter given or taken, so both teams I think will be relatively happy.

“I think they’ll be a little bit more happier than us as they’re the away team and I thought we got stronger and stronger. We kept a clean sheet and looked a good team, a strong team.

“They’re not going to make it easy for you. I think we shaded the game and thought if any team was going to win it, it would be us.

“We had the ball and were trying to move the ball. They kept a good shape, they’ve got good players and so have we.

“As the game wore on, I just couldn’t see them scoring unless we did something crazy. A couple of times we tried to do that.

“But looking at it now, I have to think a draw was a fair result and I thought that was a really entertaining 0-0 draw.”
