Southport sign Hand in time for Hatters trip

Former Hatters midfielder Jamie Hand has signed for Southport in time for their Skrill Premier trip to Kenilworth Road tonight.

The 29-year-old joins the Sandgrounders on a two month loan deal from Skrill North side Stockport County, where he has made just five appearances since his move in the summer.

Hand played 15 times for Town scoring twice after joining on loan from Hayes & Yeading in August 2011 but on leaving the club, became embroiled in a Twitter rant against Hatters fans was fined by the FA for bringing the game into disrepute.

After joining Southport, Hand wrote on Twitter: “Delighted to have signed for Southport on loan. Looking forward to getting back playing starting tomorrow back down the kenal.”
