Smith’s back on his feet as he and Fitzsimons look to pre-season return

Brave Hatters midfielder Jonathan Smith is back on his feet and heading for a pre-season return along with long-term injured team-mate Danny Fitzsimons, writes Mark Wood.

Smith, 27, is now walking without the need for crutches as he starts his rehabilitation to overcome the double leg break he sustained in the Boxing Day game at Barnet.

Boss John Still said: “Jonathan Smith is now walking without the aid of crutches, which is very good.

“Danny Fitzsimons is on course for what we all thought, which will be next pre-season.”
