Skipper admits hard work is key to cure Town’s defensive woes

HATTERS are having a real set-to over set-pieces after conceding five goals in their last two games against Braintree on Saturday and Hayes & Yeading on Monday, writes Mark Wood.

Skipper George Pilkington held his hands up to being partly at fault for the ‘cheap’ goals and is anticipating plenty of hard work on the training field to rectify the situation.

He said: “We’ve conceded five goals in the last two games and they’ve all been from set-pieces.

“It’s not as if teams are penetrating us and getting through us and losing our markers in the back four.

“They are cheap goals we are giving away so it’s been touched upon and I’m sure we’ll be doing a lot of work on it in training.”
