Shaw and Fleetwood can’t wait to put things right at Kidderminster

Strikers Jon Shaw and Stuart Fleetwood are relishing tomorrow night’s trip to Kidderminster Harriers at it gives the Hatters an opportunity to make amends for Saturday’s disappointing 2-2 home draw, writes Mark Wood.

Luton were much improved in the second half following the introduction of target man Jon Shaw and he’s hoping they can continue to go in the right direction after a disappointing first half show against the Tynesiders.

He said: “We’ve seen each other today, we know what we need to do and hopefully it will all click again Tuesday and we’ll go again and hopefully get a win on the board.”

And he hopes his performance has given manager Paul Buckle something of a selection headache after being slightly disappointed to start Saturday’s game on the bench.

He said: “I just hope to give the manager a headache, I’m not here to sit here and sulk if I’m not in the team. We are a team outfit and everybody’s going to have to play their part.

“If I have to come off the bench and be a bit of an impact for the time being, then so be it. If I can get my start I’ll give it everything I can and the manager knows that.”

Fleetwood asserted the Hatters are concentrating on claiming three points on Tuesday and believes that the busy opening gives everyone a belief they can play a part.

He added: “I think you always realise it’s going to be a busy start with the Saturday, Tuesday, and unfortunately then we’ve got the game on the Friday as it’s on TV.

“We are definitely happy we’ve got a game Tuesday to put this game right, so we will go into that.

“Kidderminster play good football like us so we will go down there to try and get three points and definitely come out with a better tempo than we had today.”
