Second half hoodoo’s a problem for Hatters

PERPLEXED James Dance was at a loss to explain how the Hatters once again surrendered an away lead as they eventually hung on for a 1-1 draw at Cambridge United on Saturday, writes Mark Wood.

It was the fifth time this season Luton have tossed away the advantage on their travels as Stuart Fleetwood predatory 17th-minute strike was cancelled out with 13 minutes to go by substitute Liam Hughes, moments after he had come on.

Town dominated the first half but were forced on to the back foot in the second period and were somewhat clinging on at the end.

Dance, 24, said: “It’s just been brought up the points we drop away from home in winning positions. If we could put our finger on why we wouldn’t be playing at this level.”
