Scott happy to be on the spot for Hatters

Confident striker Scott Rendell is more than happy to take on Town’s penalty-taking responsibilities after keeping his cool to net from 12 yards against Southport on Saturday, writes Mark Wood.

That goal, his second of the game, secured Luton a 3-1 win as he smashed down the middle to ease Town’s worries from the spot – having experienced all kinds of penalty problems in recent seasons, including a play-off final shoot-out defeat to AFC Wimbledon.

Rendell revealed he was fully aware of Luton’s difficulties, but was unperturbed, while the forward also believes with Stuart Fleetwood and Andre Gray playing either side of him on the day, there is a growing understanding and effectiveness between Town’s forward.
