Rooney backs Town for League Two promotion push

Hatters winger Luke Rooney believes Town are well equipped to enjoy another successful campaign in League Two next term, writes Mike Simmonds.

The 23-year-old, who is currently out of contract, said: “I think it’s actually an easier task to get out of League Two.

“I don’t want to jinx it, but I see York and Burton got into the play-offs.

“Obviously it doesn’t just go on size of clubs, but the group of players here already would compete without a shadow of a doubt, let alone when we bring a couple of additions in.

“I’d be certainly recommending a few people have few quid on us next year.”
Rooney also felt that with John Still at the helm, himself a League Two promotion winner at former club Dagenham & Redbridge, will be a huge positive for Town’s chances.
