Robinson’s looking for Hatters breakthrough

NEW Town signing Matt Robinson has his sights on breaking into the first team at Luton this season, writes Mike Simmonds.

Although initially signed with a view to more of a development role, the 18-year-old has played a part in every pre-season friendly thus far.

With boss Paul Buckle wanting and creating a far leaner squad since taking over at Kenilworth Road, there is every chance that Robinson will be thrust into action in the Blue Square Bet Premier.

Robinson, who came through the ranks at Leicester City, has already showcased his versatility for Town too already, playing a number of positions throughout the friendlies.

He’s been a deep-lying midfielder, spent a few minutes in central defence, while also playing a more advanced role in the 2-0 win at St Albans on Monday night.
