Richards won over by squad that Hatters are building

THE squad that boss Paul Buckle is assembling at Kenilworth Road played a major part in former Gillingham defender Garry Richards decision to become a Luton player, writes Mike Simmonds.

The 26-year-old was signing number five for Town after Ronnie Henry, Danny Spiller, Scott Rendell and Jon Shaw all put pen to paper, as Luton look to be pulling all the stops out to win promotion.

Richards said: “It wasn’t a tough decision. Yes I spoke to a couple of other league clubs, but with the type of personnel and players that the gaffer is talking about bringing in it was a no-brainer to go to a club the size of Luton.”
