Plastic pitches discussed by Football League

Luton, who famously boasted an artificial pitch in the late 80s and early 90s, haven’t ruled out a potential return in the future.

Several League One and League Two teams are keen on the idea and the 72 clubs will debate the findings of a consultation period that drew 1,700 individual responses from clubs, fans and official bodies.

It could result in a formal vote in the future or the plan could be dropped altogether.
