Pilkington: It’s our turn this year

TOP dogs Luton are hoping it will finally be their year when they battle it out against York City for a return to the Football League on Sunday, writes Mark Wood.

Despite having struggled against the better teams during the regular season, Town have blossomed under new manager Paul Buckle.

Captain George Pilkington believes this should finally be their year, saying: “Every dog has his day and I think it’s our turn this year.

“We’ve struggled against the better teams in the divisions but I think we’ve turned that form round since the new manager’s come in.

“We are a lot more organised, a lot more dogged, and just about got through on that doggedness today.

“We’ve got the players here. The players are good enough, we believe we are good enough, we are on a good run, there is nothing to fear.”
