The powerful 20-year-old midfielder penned a two-and-a-half year deal at Kenilworth Road as he hopes to help power them to the Skrill Premier title.

He said: “Luton are top of the league so hopefully we can stay there and come the end of the season be back in League Two next season.”

Mpanzu impressed massively while on loan at the Hatters, playing four times in the league and three times in the FA Trophy before going off injured in the 6-0 win against Kidderminster in December.

He revealed it was an easy decision to return, despite dropping down four divisions to make the move.
