O’Donnell open to a loan move if he can’t break into Town team

Hatters’ youngster JJ O’Donnell has admitted he may well look for a loan move this season if he can’t force his way into the first team, writes Mike Simmonds.

The 21-year-old played a major role under former boss Paul Buckle at the start of last season, but dropped out of contention when John Still took over.

He said: “I’m not one who’s going to sit there and pick up my money each week. I’m a young lad, I want to get out and play football as much as I can.

“Hopefully it will be here at Luton Town as I’d love it to be here.

“But if it’s not going to be here, I’ll look to get out on loan and play my games of football elsewhere.”

O’Donnell was employed as left-back against Biggleswade Town on Monday night, but is hoping to make his name further forward in either of his preferred left wing or central midfield roles.
