O’Donnell joins Gateshead on loan
Hatters midfielder JJ O’Donnell has joined fellow Skrill Premier side Gateshead on loan for a month, writes Mike Simmonds.
The 22-year-old recently spent a loan spell at struggling Hyde, scoring once in six appearances.
Heed boss Gary Mills told the club’s official website: “O’Donnell is a great addition to the squad.
“He is an excellent player who did very well against us when we played Hyde recently.
“He hasn’t been getting a chance at Luton this season and needs a run of games to show how good he is.
“It’s good that he got a few games in recently at Hyde and is fit as a fiddle.
“He’s a left footed player which gives us balance and can play out wide or as an attacking midfielder.”
O’Donnell will go straight into Gateshead’s 16 for the top-five game at Grimsby Town tomorrow.
On joining the Heed, he tweeted: “Pleased to have signed on loan at @GatesheadFC for an initial month! Looking forward to moving to Newcastle and getting started.”
