O’Donnell in awe of Hatters fans

TOWN youngster JJ O’Donnell is hoping the Luton fans turn out in their thousands once more at Wembley on Sunday, writes Mike Simmonds.

The 20-year-old was in the crowd the last time Hatters played at the home of English football, when they beat Scunthorpe United 3-2 in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy back in April 2009.

Now a first team player at the club, he will actually be involved in some way, whether it be in the squad, or as part of the dressing room.

He said: “I was there a few years back when Luton sold out their end. That day as a fan going to watch the game was incredible and the noise the Luton fans made that day was breathtaking.

“So hopefully if Luton bring that same sort of following against our hoodoo of York, we’ll be back in the Football League.”
